Top Ten!
Thanks to everyone who voted for my wine label entry, Bully Blend. My portrait of Makai made the top 10! Winner is announced tomorrow, Monday 6/22. I definitely have a few favorites (besides my own, of course) that I wouldn’t mind seeing on the finished label. But I’ll keep that to myself 🙂

A Belated Wedding and Baby Gift
I finally shipped off a belated wedding gift to our friends Neal and Laura, who actually just had their first baby. So needless to say, it became kind of a combined Congratulations on your marriage/Congratulations on your new baby gift. Neal and Laura love their labs, so I thought this would be a great personalized gift since their registry was long since wiped clean!
In addition to the portrait, I also had this T-shirt made. Excuse the carebear model, I had to borrow it from my mom because I needed a doll of some type to showcase the tiny tee!
Camo dog
Just finished this portrait of Brody, commissioned as a birthday gift for Brody’s dad. The only request was a camo background and I have to say, I like how it turned out. Normally my backgrounds steer toward the more modern and simplistic side, but lately I’ve been wanting to change things up a bit to appeal to a broader demographic. According to the recipient’s sister, who ordered the portrait, he loved it. So I’m sure I’ll be experimenting a little more in the near future.
Hero Dog
Getting hired to do a memorial portrait is always a bit bittersweet. On one hand, it breaks my heart to think about the emptiness a missing pet can create in a home. But on the other hand, it honors and showcases a family member that is no longer with us. The reaction of the owners is so sincere and usually even a bit emotional. Seeing the bond between owners and their pets is one of the many perks about what I do. For a brief moment I feel like I was able to help with the grief process by giving you something to hang in your home and help you to remember your best friend each time you pass it by. This post is dedicated to a true American hero who gave his life overseas for our freedom.
