Stanley’s canvas arrives!
So I’ve mentioned a few different times that I recently completed my two largest portraits yet, two bulldogs displayed at a whopping 7 feet by 3 feet! Their mom and commissioner of the portraits has promised me a picture of the portraits hanging in her home (I’m holding you to it!) so I’ve been waiting to post that photo to show them.
But for now, I thought I’d show a shot of when I received the first canvas print in the mail as kind of a sneak peek. This also shows a little bit of my process. Since my artwork is graphic illustrations, I print the final digital file on high quality canvas. I purchase wooden stretcher bars separately and once I assemble the bars into the frame for the artwork, I wrap the canvas and then I have my finished portrait ready for delivery!
Here, Sam checks out the canvas while Makai remains unimpressed. Probably because I’m paying attention to something other than her.
Dog Days of Silver Spring Event
I had a great time this past weekend at the Living Ruff Dog Days Event up in Silver Spring, MD. An entire street block was closed and the street was filled with all sorts of people and their dogs. It was a gorgeous day and the people and dog-watching was certainly entertaining. Here are a few pictures I took in between talking to people about my portraits.
Olive
Our friends just got a new puppy, a black boxer named Olive. I did a quick portrait of her as a birthday/housewarming gift for her new mom.

Introducing…Mia!
Here she is…the newest addition to our family! Her name is Mia, she’s a 13 week old rescued Beagle pup and she is a bundle of love! She’s such a sweet girl with an energetic and curious personality and an enormous tail that never seems to stop wagging. I’m anxiously looking forward to letting Makai and Sam meet their new cousin but we have to wait for her to completely heal from her recent spay surgery. Here are a few pictures of the little cutie.

Tomorrow is a big day!
Tomorrow we add another addition to our extended family! My mom will be picking up her new daughter, a 12 week old beagle from Beagles to the Rescue, a beagle rescue located in Chesapeake, Virginia. I’ll be taking pictures when she goes to pick her up tomorrow and documenting her first day in her new home so look for a new post in the next couple days to introduce her!
In the mean time, here’s a portrait I did a year or so ago of our good friends’ beagle, Jackson, when he was a puppy, in honor of our new family member.

For fun
I just had to post this. I received an email forward from my sister with the subject line:
Never leave “dangerous breed” dogs alone with small children.. Pics are graphic
