About Me {Kristin Bowen}
I live in Virginia Beach with my husband, Shawn, and our two dogs. We have a Border Collie mix named Sam (11) and a Pit Bull named Makai (4).  Although I manage to find time to spend on my favorite things (beach, reading, playing with the dogs, happy hours with friends…), most of my time is spent building my custom pet illustration business as the owner of Doghouse Pet Portraits. I am also co-owner of The Kiwi Tree, a new online boutique that recently launched with our first line of specialty greeting cards. And finally, I’m always on the lookout for new and interesting design work through my freelance business, KB Design.

Using a graphic illustration style and bold colors and patterns, I create modern and colorful custom pet portraits inspired from your favorite photo. The final product is a unique piece of art to cherish and enjoy. You can choose to have them printed on any size canvas or on glossy paper suitable for framing. Each portrait is custom commissioned and captures the true spirit and likeliness of your pet. These make the perfect gift for your favorite pet lover…or for yourself!

While dogs are the most popular, I do not discriminate and love to do cats, horses, birds, fish…whatever type of pet you may have.
